Paris in Spring with a 3 and 6 year old in tow definitely doesn't set the scene for a romantic Paris stopover....HOWEVER we did have a lot of fun and squashed lots of adventures into our 4 days in Paris and the surrounds.
We stayed at the Elysees Ceramic Hotel, plenty of room for a family of four with lots of space for bags. The hotel is 150m from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees so it was perfect for walking distance to everything we needed without the kids getting too tired.
We walked up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe with the kids to see the sights over the city. Definitely worth the stairs ! We used the Metro to travel around, a great affordable, fast way to get from point to point without the traffic of the streets above.
A visit to the Museum of Natural History was a little disappointing as all the signs and announcements were in French so we struggled to understanding most of it but we did still spend a few hours here just exploring the fossils. This museum combines three museums into one, including a four-story taxonomy wing, a building of skeletons and fossils and a separate structure devoted entirely to geology.
No visit to Paris is complete without lunch sitting outside on the sidewalk trying Escargot. Even the kids were into it and asking for more.
From flower merchants to a dinner cruise on the River Seine, we did a lot including walking the stairs to the first level on the Eiffel Tower which was much more rewarding than taking the lift !
