Hong Kong Disneyland

Disney Explorer Lodge

This hotel is the newest of the 3 Disney Hotels with an Exploration/Safari feel from it. It has 4 main buildings - Asia, Africa, South America and Oceania.   We stayed in a Sea View Room in Africa on the 7th Floor which had great pool and sea views.  The rooms have amenities you can take home such as Disney Slippers for all ages and Mickey Ears Shower Gels and Cream with a Metal case that has Disney Toothbrushes.

The focus is mainly on Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy and their exploration adventures and this hotel is where they come back to after their adventures. The hotel is full of little touches relating to everything Disney. There is also a great pool surrounded by 4 gardens that relate to each theme. There are 3 places to eat. We had dinner at the World of Colour Restaurant and had the best Risotto I have ever eaten. This has international Cuisine in a nice bright setting. Then there is the Chart Room Café which serves the like of Nachos, Lasagne, Salads and freshly made sandwiches. Finally we had Breakfast at the Dragon Wind which serves Buffet of all sorts. At night it becomes an authentic Asian Style Al La Carte. We even got to meet Mickey and Goofy at breakfast time which was a treat.

We went then to Disney Land Hong Kong and enjoyed a few of the rides. Unfortunately Magic Kingdom was under renovations but the park was fun. That time of year was also great because the queues were not long but I would advise in busier times to get the priority pass. Due to rain the parade was cancelled but with staying at the park you can leave and always go back after a rest if the kids get tired earlier on in the day.
